Overview
From the factory, Honda uses very compliant rubber bushings where the shifter cables meet the
transmission. It keeps things quiet and forgiving, but it also isolates you from what the gearbox
is doing — which can mean vague engagement, slower shifts, and missed gears when you're driving hard.
A plain solid bushing firms things up, but without a spherical bearing the cables can bind and
fatigue over time. ACUITY's kit solves both problems: the gear change bushing uses a large-diameter
acetal and aluminum spherical bearing that lets the cable articulate freely, while elastomer o-rings
on the outside of each bushing take up tolerance for a tight fit on your OEM cables.
Engineering highlights
Each kit is laser-etched with a unique serial number, and the bushings are tested on street cars,
track cars, and ACUITY's own shifter test rig. Despite the solid construction, the pair weighs in more
than 20% lighter than the OEM parts.
